A week or so ago I came across a blog with a list, “35 by 35”, filled with 35 things the author wanted to do before she turned 35. I loved the idea, & decided it would be fun to think & dream about the things I want to do before turning 30 (which is 7 1/2 years away.) This is the (incomplete, always evolving) list I came up with…

30 by 30

1. Have another baby (or 3 or 4)
2. Record a cd (piano, with at least 5 songs)
3. Do newborn photography
4. Read 75 books (10/year)
5. Learn Photoshop
6. Take a Disney Cruise
7. Finish my American family tree
8. Make that cake from Epicurious
9. Learn self defense
10. Go to Minnesota several times
11. Upgrade my camera (Nikon D7000?)
12. Have a fabulous New Years Eve party
13. Make cinnamon rolls
14. Get sponsored (The Thinking Mom)
15. Buy my Pottery Barn Kids rocker
16. Take Kaden to Target Field
17. Visit my ancestor’s grave sites
18. Take ballroom dance
19. Learn to use my camera in manual mode
20. Go to an NFL (Vikings) game
21. Learn guitar
22. Sing in public
23. Buy a house
24. Finish Landon’s American family tree
25. Own a grand piano
26. Host thanksgiving at our house
27. Read with my kids before bed
28. Get a Kitchenaid mixer (preferably red)
29. Take our kids camping
30. Stay at the Grand Floridian

Setting goals is one of the most exciting things in the world to me. The rest of our lives is like a big, giant blank piece of paper that we can make into anything we want it to be. So dream a little – life is a gift 🙂
